You’re invited to the First Annual “Wi-Camp-A-Lotta” Vintage Trailer Birds and Blooms Glamporee at Lake Wister State Park, Wister, OK on April 13-16, 2023. Get your camp counselor gear ready, and head to Kiamichi Country for a weekend of vintage “summer camp-style” fun at beautiful Lake Wister State Park near Wister, OK. Dust-off those binoculars, find your favorite hiking boots, toss in your fishing pole and head-out for the fresh, spring air at Lake Wister! Throughout the weekend, our camp counselors will have multiple opportunities to earn merit badges in bird-watching and wildflower identification.
Friday night we will host a very special “Bird-Day” Party with cake and “tweets” at the Mess Hall for our resident “bird-nerd” and camp-host, Tammy. April 14th is her special day! Saturday night will feature a potluck dinner at the Mess Hall for all camp counselors. Be sure to bring your camp vests, camp pendants, canteens, flashlights, whistles, clipboards, and wear your best vintage camp counselor attire for an evening of “camporee-style” food, fun and fellowship. While enjoying the camporee, you can opt for total relaxation, or join the group throughout the weekend for a variety of camp activities including, paint by numbers, kayaking, archery, skeet shooting, biking, fishing, crafting classes, design-a-camp flag, and of course, campfire songs and s’mores! The Poteau River, Oklahoma's only river that flows north, feeds into Lake Wister along with the Fourche Maline and a half dozen or more mountain streams providing fresh cool water perfect for fishing.
