• Is there a cost to auction my trailer, RV or vehicle? 

BaT offers listings starting at $99.

• Do I have to place an ad on the VCT Classifieds to utilize the BAT Auction platform? 

Placing an ad on the VCT Classifieds is not required unless you would like to take advantage of reaching their 700,000 social media followers. Click here to go directly to BaT to post your ad.

• Can I have a classified ad and an auction at the same time? 

Your classified ad (with VCT) is changed to an "Auction Coming Soon" status once your trailer is accepted to the BaT auction site. During the auction the ad will be linked to your auction. If the trailer does not sell at auction your VCT ad will resume.

• What is my membership number?

The last seven numbers of your magazine subscription account number (or PayPal subscription Profile ID) or the membership number contained in the confirmation email you receive when you place the classified ad on VCT. Let us know if you need help locating it.

• How does a reserve price work?

A reserve is the minimum price that a vehicle will sell for. We work with sellers to set reasonable reserves, and avoid vehicles with reserves that are not realistic. Reserve values are not shown on the listing, nor do we announce when reserves have been met (we think that leads to bidding games). In some cases, a seller may opt for a No Reserve auction, ensuring that the trailer or vehicle sells at the correct market rate. More FAQs on BaT.

• If I already created a VCT "Featured" classified ad, how can I opt for a BaT auction? 

You can submit your vehicle by going HERE. After the trailer or vehicle is submitted, a member of the BaT team will reach out to you. If your vehicle is accepted for auction, you pay the $99 listing fee and an Auction Specialist will be assigned to you who will assemble your listing based on the information you provided. No fees are collected unless BaT accepts the submission. If you have chosen the “Plus” submission type, BaT will arrange a photographer to travel to your location and facilitate all photography.

• What types of vehicles are best suited for the BaT auction? 

Your trailer (vehicle) should be in very good original or restored condition. Vehicles are chosen based on a number of factors including condition, quality of information, quality of photos, requested reserve price, and similar vehicles currently for sale.

• What happens when my auction closes? 

BaT will connect you with the winning bidder to complete the transaction and organize transport.

• I don’t have any experience with Bring a Trailer or auctions. How do I learn more? 

BaT has a really helpful page entitled “How BaT Works” which will provide you you with the basics and so much more. Additionally, there is a detailed “BaT FAQ” that offers information on bidding, selling, shipping and many other topics.
