Presenters
Tim Heintz
Heintz Designs' Vintage Restoration Team grew from the passion & hobby of its founder, Tim Heintz. For over 17 years Tim has been collecting and restoring vintage rv/trailer coaches and displaying them at various vintage rv shows and museums. Because of our love of vintage trailers Heintz Designs is committed to providing its clients with the same quality restoration that we would provide for a trailer in our own vintage collection. We enjoy and understand the excitement that is felt by a new vintage trailer owner but we also respect and appreciate the love and pride possessed by vintage trailer owners who have had their trailers for many years. Classes: The History and Identification of vintage trailers. Window repair and restoration. |
Steve Hingtgen
For more than 15 years, Vintage Trailer Supply has been the industry leader in developing authentic reproduction parts for vintage travel trailers from the 1940s through 1970s. As the vintage trailer lifestyle grows, so does our scope. Our obsession with quality and service sets the standard for our community. We have the largest selection in the world of hard-to-find and formerly obsolete parts for collectible aircraft style and wood framed vintage trailers. We commit to you that we will provide the assistance you need after your purchase, whether that be technical help, warranty service, or the return of a part that isn’t quite right for your trailer. Classes: Riveting (and other specialty) tools and rivets. |
Tim and Linda Brown
Tim and Linda are painting contractors that have added trailer restorations to their repertoire that includes custom home painting and traditional hot rod builds. The Browns specialize in complete custom trailer builds but will also make you a custom wooden screen door or curved windows for your restoration project. The Brown’s years of painting and staining experience makes them the authority with one of the most intimidating aspects of trailer restorations…the natural wood interiors! Tim and Linda will present classes on everything from repairing rotten framework to how they go about repairing and replacing interior panels. Finally, you will see how to finish wood to match existing panels and some tools and tricks that Tim and Linda have developed to restore old trailers. Classes: Interior Wood Finishes, Color Matching. Wood framing, rot repair, wood joinery |

Adam Blair
From the early days working on trailers out of his garage in Benicia, CA, Adam found a new passion with trailers. Right from the start, when he brought the very first trailer home, many neighbors and passersby would stop, tell him about their old trailer or a relative that had one growing up. It was not long before Adam had to move to a shop for more space. Since then, Avalon RV has not stopped growing. Many years later there are four employees, one traveling designer, and an incredible creative atmosphere that makes working at Avalon RV a daily adventure. The shop can tackle most any repair but at Boot Camp Adam will share the makings of a solar powered system for your trailer. Adam built a “solar show and tell display piece” that helps you understand the components and layout of a solar system. These guys are pro’s and the information you will receive will make you wonder why you don’t already have solar power charging your system. Class: Everything you wanted to know about solar charging systems. |
Gary Warner
Now retired, Gary Warner brings his years of experience of teaching electrical classes to those of us restorers that want to do it ALL ourselves! Gary uses life size demos and gets you hands-on with understanding 12 volt electrical. Gary will make wiring make sense even if you are a beginner. If you are planning on rewiring a trailer or just adding troubleshooting one, Gary’s classes will give you the confidence you need to get started. Class: 12 volt electrical, lighting and charging. |
Rick Burros
Owner and Master Technician at R and D Motorsports in Santa Cruz, CA, Rick knows his way around both cars and trailers. Rick's attention to detail makes him a perfectionist when it comes to diagnosing problems with everything from Porsches to classic Chryslers. Rick recently set-up his 1966 Chrysler Town & Country wagon to tow his 1958 Yellowstone trailer. Rick’s Boot Camp Classes will cover what you can do to set up your tow vehicle to be as safe and efficient as possible. Rick will also cover trailer brakes and bearings to make sure your trailer is roadworthy and safe wherever you tow it. Class: Axles, bearings, brakes. |
