How We Saved Money on Our Cellular Service

Without Sacrificing Performance

Cellular service was not something I have had to think about for 20 years. My position as a sales and marketing manager had provided me with a cell phone and service for the past two decades. When I retired from that position this year to operate our Vintage Camper Trailers business full time, I was thrust into the world of cellular contracts, coverage, rates and hidden fees. The company I had worked for had their service through one of the “big guys.” I just assumed I would roll into a similar plan with them because it would be easy. After a bit of research, I decided to look at other options before I signed a two year contract.

A couple of years prior to my change of employment, we had gotten our kids cell phones and found an inexpensive cellular provider,  PureTalk USA. For the kids, it was a great option because it was inexpensive and I didn’t have to sign a contract. PureTalk USA even offered inexpensive phones. In the event the kids were tough on the equipment, it wouldn’t be  a huge financial loss. The service worked great for the kids so I wasn’t sure why we hadn't considered PureTalk USA for our personal/business phone plan.

I primarily like the no hidden fees and no contracts that PureTalk USA has to offer. Because we are operating our own business now, monthly expenses were also a consideration. If you’re thinking that low cost means poor coverage – think again. The voice and data service utilized by PureTalk USA covers over 320 million Americans. A 4G LTE network, which provides the fastest internet speeds that we need to maintain our social media platforms while we are on the road. PureTalk USA provides us with reliable coverage virtually anytime, anywhere. In particularly remote camping situations we can improve our cellular signal with our WeBoost RV cellular signal booster. We use the Connect RV 65. For more technical information about wireless connections in your vintage trailer or RV, I recommend the book, The Mobile Internet Handbook.

When we decided to merge our existing phone numbers to the PureTalk USA service the process was simple and we were assisted by a U.S. based customer service professional. Phone service plans like our kids start at only $20 and include unlimited talk and text with high speed data access with speeds up to 4G LTE. After you have used your plan's high-speed data allowance, your data speed will be throttled to 128 kbps, but you still will be able to connect. NO overage fees! You can even refer a friend and receive a $20 credit on any unlimited plan. If all of those features wasn’t enough to convince us, the company is owned and operated by a U.S. veteran.

We have been able to choose plans that work for the kids' needs as well as ours. With four phone lines we receive a 20% discount off of our monthly bill. When we compared carriers plans, we were so impressed with PureTalk USA that we contacted them to create a promotion for our readers. In addition to everything else that PureTalk USA has to offer, they are giving our readers  up to another $100.00 just for checking them out for 90 days! Don’t take my word for it. Compare your plan to PureTalk USA and see how it measures up.
